Our growing organization is looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager. We need someone who is able to analyze our current business procedures and recommend specific types of processes and improvements.
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the smooth running of a warehouse, including: 
  • Inventory: Overseeing inventory control and quality assurance, tracking stock, and using data to make decisions 
  • Logistics: Coordinating shipments and ensuring the warehouse operates efficiently 
  • Safety: Maintaining a safe work environment for staff and ensuring the safe use of equipment 
  • Staff: Leading and motivating a team, organizing and disciplining staff, and managing their performance to meet deadlines 
  • Equipment: Inspecting, maintaining, and managing warehouse equipment and vehicles 
  • Records: Keeping detailed records of warehouse activities 
Warehouse managers need a combination of skills, including: 
  • Organizational and time management
    Companies often have targets to meet, so good time management skills are essential 
  • Communication
    Warehouse managers need to be able to convey data quickly and accurately, both verbally and in writing, and to instruct employees on their responsibilities 
  • Critical thinking
    Warehouse managers need to be able to assess the impact of their decisions on both operations and team members 
Other skills that may be useful include: 
  • Problem-solving 
  • Data analysis 
  • Knowledge of process re-engineering 
  • Certification in heavy machinery, such as forklifts and aerial lifts
